This painting, “Whisper to the Queen,” was created in 2015. It bears the number 485 and was executed in oil paint. It is part of a series of small paintings created after attending a Hérens cow Queen Fight in Valais (CH). I witnessed several fights from the front row, admiring this centuries-old tradition where the crowned queen brings honor to her breeder. The cows have numbers and names, sometimes quite amusing. I appreciated the unique and touching bond between the breeder and their cow.
Its title, artwork number, year of creation, and my name are affixed to the back of the painting, and you will find it in my catalogue raisonné.
